Juvenile Rangers Gunning for GTHL Title

Vaughan Rangers are in a tight race with for the Juvenile AAA GTHL
champion ship crown. Game three went on Wednesday. The Rangers and
Humberview Huskies split the first two games of their series: the
Huskies won game one 6-5 last Thursday and Vaughan rebounded with
a 7-1 victory in game two on Sunday day.

Game three went on Wednesday. The result was not known at press
time.  Game four goes tonight at Lakeshore Memorial Arena in
Etobicoke, starting at 8:30 p.m.


Vaughan Kings Win GTHL Midget AAA Title

Vaughan Kings goaltender Ryan Galligan backstopped his midget AAA team
to a 4-0 shutout over the Markham Majors in the final game of an eight
 point series to win the Greater Toronto Hockey League championship on
 Wednesday night.
"Markham gave us a real good battle the first couple of games (of six)
and then our defence and goaltending took over," said defence coach Al
Sherman. Defenceman Mitch Taylor had two assists and earned player of
the game while Jamie McElroy, Joey Sarracini, Dennis O'Shaughnessy and
Jeff Feldcamp scored the goals.

The Vaughan Kings will represent the GTHL at the Central Region
Championship to be held in Ottawa March 31-April 6 against the
champions of the Northern Ontario, Ontario Minor, The Alliance and
Ottawa District Minor Hockey Associations with that winner advances
to the National Midget Championship to be played in
Arnprior, Ont April 21-27.
