History:

Haru was born to Fujita and Anzu Kasai on June 18th in his parents’ bedroom in Emeraldu. His father, Fujita, was from Jasupaa, but he ended up looking like his mother, Anzu, who was from Emeraldu, with his deep green eyes and wispy green hair when he was born. His father was proud of him nonetheless, even though he inherited his mother’s beautiful hair and eyes and the first thing he said was, "This boy will be a warrior someday." His mother had laughed at the time, but he began to train with his dad when he was five. He began with simple things, just stretches, getting to know the weapons, and basic techniques. When he wasn’t training with his father, he was outside running around and tending the gardens for some quality time with his mother. He was their pride and joy, and he didn’t lose that position when Anzu told 9-year-old Haru that he was going to be a big brother, much to his delight.

Twin boys Kanaye and Yasuo Kasai were born when Haru was 10 and he took to being a big brother right away. He loved talking to his younger brothers, telling them all he knew, playing with them, and helping his dad train them. Even as a child, he was always chattering to someone, and even though he didn’t have a lot of time for friends, being a big brother, gardening, and studying, he was still friendly with anyone that came by their house. The older of the twins, Kanaye, inherited his father’s black eyes and black hair, but Yasuo looked like their mother, except he had light green hair and light eyes, so no one had trouble telling them apart, and Haru was always glad to correct someone if they did.

However, when Haru was 11, he began to realize that tough boys in the nearby village didn’t like him very much. When he asked them to stop stomping on the flowers and breaking the tree branches, Haru got into a few scuffles with them, which he didn’t always emerge victorious from, but it only toughened his resolve that life was precious and people should respect it.

For his thirteenth birthday, he received a mysterious package containing a note and a small package of opamal seeds. Excited at being able to have an orchard of these rare fruits to himself, he began to set out to find a plot of land he could grow it on. He had his own money by working odd jobs and his parents were well-off and once he found this land, he bought a lot of acres so he could build his house there when he got older and began to work with the earth to start his orchard. He had some help from his mother, and his father helped him make the fences around it, keeping it away from strangers, and began to take care of it every day, also using the plot of land for training, often staying away for hours on end.

However, he noticed his father was becoming slightly distant from him, since he hadn’t seen Haru spending much time training. Haru had realized long ago that when he trained, something would come over him and he would tend to destroy trees and the ground around him, so when he was supposedly going to town, he’d go off to a barren area and train there. Fujita didn’t know what to make of his son and was disappointed that he appeared uninterested in training anymore. Haru had always wanted to please his father, but he knew he couldn’t fight around him anymore because he was afraid to hurt him. One night, Haru overheard his father arguing with his mother, and heard his father say, "That boy will never be a true warrior." Heart-broken, Haru resolved to one day be a warrior to prove his father wrong.

At the age of 16, he moved out of his parents’ home and onto his plot of land. There he spent his days solely tending to his orchard, training, and sometimes working so he could support himself. For three years he continued his lifelong training and one day, he went to see a Parian mage. It was a matter of some urgency. Haru had decided he needed a good weapon, and the whip he was using needed to have something done to make it better. So, he asked the mage to transform it into a thorny belt that when removed, he would lash it and it would change into a whip. In return, he would give him a portion of his opamal produce from the orchard and most of the money he had saved up for just that occasion. A few days later, after he got his whip, he heard Queen Akina was stepping down as Floraemerald and he was bound and determined to win that contest to prove to his father he wasn’t a weakling.

Current Situation: Now that Haru is Floraemerald, he is expected to one day become King. However, he has refused to abandon his opamal orchard because he had invested six years’ time in it. When he isn’t at the palace, he’s at the small cottage he built for himself once he was 17 and either studying or training.
