Errata
7/12/2005
On a personal note, I'd like to thank "JangoJay" and the rest of the SW:TCG "Rules Gurus" for their efforts in putting it all together. As of this note's date, I've cleaned out all the redundancies my consolidation has with the Official Consolidated Errata and Rules. Anything remaining on my page was not addressed in the Official list, but is still considered valid.
Emperor Palpatine
Ruling
11/5/2004
Emperor Palpatine and Darth Sidious stack.
Ruling
4/2/2005
Emperor Palpatine and Darth Sidious both contest with Chancellor Palpatine.
Enhance
FAQ
1/29/2004
Battle cards with this mechanic pay either one Force cost, or the other, not in individual increments.
Equipment
Ruling
5/11/2005
Equipment only provides the equipment effect if the equipment is attached to the unit. Also, you may not keep paying the equip cost of one piece of equipment over and over again to stack the effect on one unit.
Hidden Cost
FAQ
11/5/2004
Hidden Cost can be played during the build step.
Ruling
4/2/2005
Hidden Cost cannot be played during the build step.
Negative Speed
FAQ
11/5/2004
From the FAQ for Fly Casual, a unit with negative speed is considered to have speed 0 for all purposes except calculating speed value. When a unit with a negative speed value gets a speed bonus, apply all bonuses and penalties to determine the unit’s speed.
Retaliate
Errata
1/29/2004
Retaliate must be played before attack dice are rolled. There is no opportunity to play this ability during damage prevention.
Ruling
4/17/2004
Static Retaliate abilities are still optional to play. You do not have to Retaliate if you don't want to.
Rules for Contesting Units
FAQ
1/29/2004
See WotC's Clarified rules for Contested Unique Units.
Set Aside
Ruling
7/2/2004
Means that a card is removed from the game. Cards that are removed from the game can't be targeted, tapped to pay costs, etc. If a unique unit is removed from the game, another copy of that unique card can then be played.
Ruling
7/2/2004
The Pilot on a unit that's been set aside goes with the unit it's piloting. If the unit comes back into play, the Pilot comes back with it.
Shields
FAQ
1/29/2004
Dice of Damage is not affected by Shields.
Upkeep
Ruling
4/27/2004
Upkeep worded with multiple costs, such as "Discard 1 card, pay 1 build point, or tap this unit", are all considered an "OR" condition. "Discard 1 card OR pay 1 build point OR tap this unit."
When is a card a unit?
FAQ
1/29/2004
A deck will contain "unit cards". They will not be a "unit" until it is actually deployed into the build zone or an arena. A partially-built unit card is not a unit. A unit card in your hand or your deck is not a unit.
Would be damaged
Ruling
7/7/2004
It has been determined that "would be damaged" is a game state (or period of time), rather than a trigger point. "Would be damaged" occurs anytime after damage re-roll effects and before damage counters are placed.
