Master
Mon is not a professional
webmaster
sir... He just makes
websites
for fun and to express his
interest, regardless of these facts... He
still strives to do things, such as these
tutorials to help fellow webmasters sir... |

| Tutorials |
| All the tutorials I've put up here are about the
things I've done in this website. These are the
things that worked for me and I must admit that
there maybe easier and better ways on doing some
of the things in this tutorial. If you want some
more tutorials, you can find them at my homepage.
However, I urge you to be more creative and expand
my ideas and put some of your own ideas on it. |

| Scan and Grid Lines |
| I've been seeing a lot of websites using this
style with their images. A simple image can look
great in an instant with this. It is very simple
to do and a must for webmasters to know. If you'll
take a look on our banner, you'll notice that I
used scan and grid lines on the background. Now,
through this tutorial, you will be able to do something
like that and best of all it's easy as cursing Potter! |
|
| 1. First you have to make the pattern, in
this case... A scan and grid lines. Press
Ctrl+N and enter 1 for width and 2 for height
then choose "Transparent". |
| 2. Zoom in 1600% and hit M, box the
top pixel and press G then fill it with color
black. You should have something that looks
like this... Click HERE!
(The image appears bigger because it's
zoomed 1600%.) |
| 3. Save it and go to the Edit tab
and choose "Define Pattern" then
enter "Scan Lines" as its name.
Hit Ctrl+W. |
| 4. Now you have the scan lines pattern,
time for the grid lines. Press Ctrl+N again
and enter 15 for width and height then choose
"Transparent". |
| 5. Zoom in 1600% and hit M and box
the entire 1 pixel row on the top, hold down
the Shift key and box the entire 1 pixel column
on the left. Press G then fill it with color
black. It should look like this... Click HERE!
(The image appears bigger because it's
zoomed 1600%.) |
| 6. Repeat step 3 but enter "Grid
Lines" instead of "Scan Lines"
as its name. |
| 7. Now you have the patterns you
need. Open an image and right click on its
layer and choose "Blending Options".
Go to "Pattern Overlay" and on "Pattern",
decide whether you want to use scan or grid
lines. |
| 8. Adjust the "Opacity" until
you're satisfied and there you have it! An
image with scan or grid lines! |
|
|
 |
|

| Original |
With Scan Lines |
With Grid Lines |
|
|
| You don't have to be bounded with the two patterns
I used here. You can be more creative and make your
own pattern! |
|
I'm a bit lazy right now so expect more tutorials
later! |
