| Stephanie - I just found this site today
and I have to say it had been the most fascinating
I had seen for a long time. I can tell you worked
deeply and extremely solid on which had completely
shown a knockout to me. The layout is spellbinding
and everything is just phenomenal. I had the greatest
time I never had in a long shot here on this site.
Thank you deeply. Slytherins rule - erm - heh. |

| chillihead - I for one, am thoroughly impressed!
Well done. Pity it's a Slytherin site though... |
|
| mossoi - Must agree. Good site especially
the load time for such a graphical site. The only
thing I question is the content but that's just
me! |
|
| hiflyer - Ye olde bottom scrollbar @ 800
wide issue... <table width="779" height="100%"
border="0" align="center">
You need to make that a little smaller! Other than
that, well done. |
|
| jcmp - @ 800 x 600... Mozilla has a big
problem with the layout. Opera has a horizontal
scrollbar. |
|
| hiflyer - I have IE6 SP1 on Win2k Pro @
guaranteed 800 x 600 pixels outer dimensions, and
I do get the horizontal scrollbar. Recommended width
for a table is 760. Better still is to use 98% so
that the content fits the browser width regardless
- there is a lot of wasted space @ 1280 x 1024. |
|
| chillihead - I'm running IE6 on XP at 800 x 600
- no horizontal scrollbar... |
|
| enamorado - Those on other OS: That's supposed
to be funny right? Half the fun of creating websites
is getting everything to look good in a variety
of browsers. I think I get more helpful feedback
from folks from the variations of browser/OS combos
that we all use rather than actual design critique-type
comments. I do like looking at all the different
sites though, gives me a lot of ideas for my own
sites. |
|
| jakykong - Well organized, and quite attractive,
but I could say that you may want less of your site
on the main page. I guess I always thought of the
main page as an introduction, giving links to other
pages. |
|
| mossoi - Personally I think you should
have as much content as possible on the first page
(Within reason) the idea of an introductory home
page is becoming dated now. Take a look at some
of the big sites; they all have chunks of content
on the home page even if the content is later repeated
within a specific section of the site. Think hard
about putting a flash movie as the intro page. If
I need to browse several sites that offer similar
content I'll generally ignore those that make me
load a movie first. Flash movies tend to have no
useful content and waste time (Even with a skip
intro button you still have to wait for it to start).
You've got a much better chance of hooking the visitor
if you put actual content on the home page. |
|
| hiflyer - I don't know what's causing it,
but your accumulated widths of all your table cells
makes the bottom scrollbar on my browser show (IE6
on Win2k with 800 x 600 browser window on 1280 x
1024 resolution monitor)... It is about 5 to 10
pixel too wide. It's not your table width definition
that's the problem - I reckon it's the width of
the image content. General comment? I like the style
- well suits the subject matter. One recommendation
- either center-align the holding <table>,
or make it so that the center column expands to
fit the browser width... having it left-aligned
means a LOT of wasted space on the right when I
maximize my browser. Another recommendation... www23.brinkster.com/malfoysnape/
gives an error message... Either rename home.asp
to default.asp or put in a default.htm page that
redirects to home.asp - just in case anyone tries
to use that URL to get to your site. (Also, www.slytherin.vze.com
points to www23.brinkster.com/malfoysnape/ - you
see what I mean?) |
|
| datle - The navigation images on the left
side are hard to read. I'm talking about the headers.
Otherwise, it's a very nice looking site. Its pretty
well organized, and shouldn't confuse anyone. |
|
| mafdet - My browser size is 800 x 600 so
I don't know if you've made any changes as hiflyer
suggested. Otherwise I can't think of anything you
should change. Cool layout. I can see this being
a very popular site for HP fans. |
|
| siteguru - There are plenty of other HP
sites out there. If you're going to p*ss off the
800 x 600 browser brigade then they're just going
to go elsewhere. You really want to be that blasé? |
|
| yaopuihan - Not bad Malfoy, your site's
pretty straight forward but there's too much scrolling
in the main page at 800 x 600 resolution, IMO you
should take out the text that aren't links yet,
or split the main page into different pages, such
as the students of Slytherin, they can be in another
page and so on for the others, so you'll still have
the same amount of content but less scrolling. However
it IS in my opinion but if you believe your main
page is good as it is, then you can keep it that
way, I don't mind, I don't even use 800 x 600 anyway.
Overall your site is great for Harry Potter fans
like me (Though I personally hate Malfoy, he tries
too hard to be too cool). |
