Background
The Degermate potion is something of an infrequently used potion, since four of its main ingredients are regulated strictly by respective countries' Ministries. It is mainly used in the medical profession, though a fully competent wizard should be able to concoct it easily enough. It supresses mild biological and psychological urges, and makes them more controllable as well as bearable. It has a wide variety of uses, from helping addicts to recover from their addictions to preventing certain conditions from becoming untreatable.

Ingredients

Procedure

1. Pour the Stinksap into the cauldron and bring to a gradual boil. Allow it to boil for forty five minutes.

2. Add in the Lacewing flies one by one, stirring occassionally until all are stirred in. The potion should become a dark brown colour of a much thicker and rougher consistency. Allow to boil for fifteen minutes more.

3. Drizzle in the orange oil in a circular manner, while sitrring in with a brisk motion.

4. Slowly drizzle in the Erumpent liquid and allow to work through the potion itself. Ten minutes of boiling will achieve this. The potion should be a dark brown colour now.

5. Add in the ground ginger while stirring in gentle circles.

6. Sprinkle in powdered bicorn horn slowly. DO NOT DUMP IT IN ALL AT ONCE AS THIS CAN REACT VIOLENTLY WITH THE ERUMPENT LIQUID AND CAUSE A SEVERE EXPLOSION. Allow to boil for a further eleven minutes.

7. Pour in the extract of belladonna in small batches to bind the potion together. The potion should immediately turn a dark black-purple. If this hasn't happened, enough Erumpent liquid hasn't been added. Depending on the shade of brown, anything from 5 mL to 55 mL may need to be added. The darker the brown, the less that needs to be added.

8. Slip in the bezoars one at a time. DO NOT DUMP THEM IN AS THEY WILL SINK TO THE BOTTOM TOO FAST AND RENDER THE BELLADONNA, AND THEREFORE THE ENTIRE POTION, USELESS. The potion should be a light purple colour now. Allow it to simmer for thirty minutes for the bezoars to dissolve completely.

9. Add in the apple seeds in batches of three at a time. The potion's colour should deepen again to a dark purple.

10. After the apple seeds, immediately add in the nymph eyelashes at once. Bright green swirls should appear momentarily on the surface before disappearing. The potion should still be the same dark purple colour. Allow it to simmer at a low heat for thirteen minutes.

11. Drop in the mermaid scales one by one. DO NOT DUMP THEM IN ALL AT ONCE, AS THIS WILL CAUSE THEM WILL REACT IMMEDIATELY WITH THE NYMPH EYELASHES AND CAUSE THE POTION TO BECOME HIGHLY CORROSIVE AND CAN MELT THROUGH WOODEN OBJECTS. AS WELL, IT WILL RENDER THE POTION USELESS ON ANYTHING BUT AQUAEOUS PLANTS.

12. Bring the potion back to a full boil for twenty minutes.

13. Once done, take off the heat immediately and pour into two vials.

14. Apply a "Congela" charm to the vials immedately. If done correctly, the potion should take on a slightly translucent quality in the vial.
