Family History: The Matsushita’s are the oldest Wizarding family in Japan and one of the oldest in Asia; it is the only family to have a matriarchal line rather than a patriarchal. While the exact origins of the house are cloaked in mystery, it is clear that it was founded sometime in the 11th century by warrior woman named Yuri. The protests from other families at the times were abruptly silenced when she challenged the leader of the opposition and easily dispatched him in a very messy manner. She founded the first family home in a pine forest, hence the surname Matsushita. It was clearly stipulated that any man marrying into the family would take the surname and become a member of the family. This was met with very little opposition as the Matsushita family was quickly gaining affluence and influence in high political circles as well as the Wizarding Imperial Court. From the very beginnings, they stayed strictly to the Wizarding world and quickly amassed their fortune by becoming samurai for the Wizarding imperial court. In 1458, they relocated from the Wizarding Imperial Court in Osaka to Ohata, rebuilding their manor home but still serving under their lord. This was maintained until the 19th century with the coming of American wizards and fresh ideas. Seeing the social and economic changes wrought by this, as well as the lessening need for samurai, they turned their fortunes to agriculture, setting up rice fields, as well as a sake refinery in Ohata as well as Ma. And for the first time in 800 years, the Matsushita family hired Muggle workers for one of their farm holdings. By the time the early 20th century had come, the Matsushita were known in the Muggle world for their sake and renowned in the Wizarding world for being the main benefactor of the Hoshingen Academy of Magic as well as a few other causes and funds.

Personality
Relationships: Leiko has no one that she is close to. Her relationship with Alexandre collapsed and she couldn’t be bothered to fix it, seeing that the exact same thing would happen again. She had virtually no presence in her sons lives and so when she decided to spend some time with them, they viewed her as a stranger and shielded Sora from her. With Sora, she only made an attempt to get along with her because she needed her and the latent vampiric abilities in her. She only In concern to Bellatrix and Narcissa, she sees them as her compatriots in a cause but that is the extent of it; she would use them as she saw as necessary until she needed to dump them. She never connected with her family, preferring to remain on the fringes, looking in because she felt like, and truly was, the outsider. The only person she probably ever really became close with was her biological father, Jiro, simply because he was vampire and could better understand some of the things she felt and wanted to do. The only other person she let in as much as Jiro was someone she knew from the area where she grew up in Ohata, Satoru Miyamoto. When he left to study at Hogwarts in England, Leiko felt abandoned and betrayed though she never breathed a word of it.
Likes: lalate night, blood pops, hunting, practicing katas, people who are easily cowed, walks through the forest, baiting Muggles, making things with her wand (whatever she feels like) and non-fiction
Hates: touchy feely stuff, stupid/slow people, having absolutely nothing to do with her time, misoshiro (miso soup), nattou, fiction books
Qualities: Leiko is a rather hard individual that can be charming when she wants to be for an express purpose. She is very driven to succeed and can go about it in two manners: by the nice way and by cutthroat methods, just so long as she gets the job done. If she cannot get something willingly from someone, she will quite easily blackmail them for it. At her job in the Ministry, she tacks on a pleasant face of a diplomat and has a few superficial friends in her department. But her drive/ruthlessness has given her a group of people who do exactly as she orders and are well connected within the Wizarding community themselves and thus she has an information network at her disposal to serve Lord Voldemort. She knows that people dislike her but so long as they don’t say it to her face, she blithely ignores it and continues on what she normally does.
Flaws: Leiko can get quite impatient if something does go her way the first time around and it makes her sullen. As well, she can be prone to expressing her anger physically and the longer something sits inside her, the greater the chance that she’ll slap, punch, etc.
Quirks: Occasionally, Leiko will walk around the house in her pyjamas and not bother with much of anything. As well, the one place that she has never really been to on the Whytemoor Manor grounds in all of her years of living there is the stables that house the beasts; she’s been to the door and that’s about the full extent. As well, she’ll automatically freak out at the slightest sign of something cutesy in Whytemoor Manor.
What is his problem?: She realises that she can be too harsh and is unwilling to do anything about it, since she has her pride and thinks that she is always right.

History
Childhood: Leiko is the second last child born to Yukiko Matsushuita, with Shigeru Matsushita being the last. But while one half of her half siblings were born from Katashi's first marriage and the other half her mother and Katashi's legitimate children, Leiko is the only one that is a bastard child. She was the love child of Yukiko and Jiro, a vampire. Leiko found this out when she was 6 years old and discovered the love letters written between Yukiko and Jiro. Stunned, she started withdrawing away from everyone in the family, relegating herself to the sidelines and focusing more on her studies when she started attending the Hanako Bujôtsu. It wasn’t until she was 7 and she received a letter for the school that she contacted Jiro with the express purpose of getting to know him. In a family so large, no one really noticed the introverted manner in which Leiko was acting. It wasn’t noticed until Yukiko gathered all the girls under 15 together for The Talk.

Teenage: Leiko’s teenage years were fairly boring. She started spending time with Satoru Miyamoto, a boy from the Ohata region and with Jiro, her biological father. She passed Hanako Bujôtsu with a 90 percentile and chose to study down at Miruhito Academy, a second level school located just outside of Tokyo. It wasn’t until she was 15 that Yukiko noticed that she was acting in a very withdrawn manner. Leiko simply listened to her concerns before she ignored them and continued on with her life. Nothing major happened until Satoru left to study at Hogwarts in England. Leiko became even more introverted, feeling betrayed. But she had long learned to put on a very good face so as to fool people into thinking she was perfectly fine. When Satoru invited her to come and spend Christmas in England with him, she took some time off from school, and took the first Portkey there. When she arrived, she was given a room in the Ravenclaw girl’s dormitory. It was at this time that she met Alexandre and struck up something of a friendship with him. As well, it was the first time she met Bellatrix and Narcissa Black during an outing to Hogsmeade at the start of the vacation. This was the first that she heard about Lord Voldemort, and his ideals. Finding them appealing, she further questioned Bellatrix and Narcissa before deciding to meet with Lord Voldemort a few days before Christmas. Once she did, she immediately joined the Death Eater and received her first mission; to open negation deals with the vampires of Japan, and possibly Asia to broaden his support base. Knowing that she had dormant vampire traits and it was only a simple matter of awakening them she accepted and went back to Hogwarts. Already knowing the ritual that would do this, she found an empty classroom and set about getting started. She was about to end the ritual when Satoru found her and interrupted it; the end result was that he vampiric abilities were permanently sealed off rather than awakened. In a panic, she fired the first curse that she could think of, slicing part of Satoru’s mouth open. Once she calmed down a bit, she realised that he knew far too much and would have to be silenced. And so she killed him, while saying ‘I’m sorry’ for the first time in her life. She hid his body before casting a sealing charm on the room and concealing it to look like a section of wall. After vacation ended, she traveled back to Japan and faked a period of mourning. It wasn’t soon after arriving back that the first owl arrived from Alexandre. After awhile, she decided to write back to him and start a correspondence while continuing to complete her degree at Fukuoka Collegiate just outside of Tokyo.

Adult: Once Leiko graduated from Fukuoka Collegiate – in the top percentile once more – she entered a brief internship at the Japanese Ministry of Magic. At the same time, she was also dating Alexandre de Vyns, who was commuting between Japan and England during his time off. In June of 1977, she applies for a job in the International Co-operation Department, specifically in England. She is sent there in September to work in their branch of the same name. This is also the same time that Alexandre de Vyns proposed to her and she accepted, seeing that he was affluent enough and she could probably forge a good niche in England for herself to be closer to Voldemort. Once the citizenship paperwork was cleared up, she moved to England permanently while commuting to Japan as needed. At the same time, she became a much more fully fledged Death Eater doing as ordered of her. When she became pregnant with her first child, she placed a suspend charm on the foetus to prevent it from developing and enabling her to continue with her work for the Ministry and Voldemort as needed. But when she slept with Alexandre again and conceived, it forced her other suspended foetus to develop once they were at the same stage and she was forced to take maternity leave from the Ministry and beg Voldemort to allow her the time needed to deliver the children before she could eagerly return to his service. As soon as Kenshin and Daichi were born, she left them in Alexandre’s care and returned to her job full time, while immersing herself more and more in the demands that Voldemort made of her. When Alexandre confronted her about it, she told him quite flatly that she refused to sacrifice her job simply because he landed her with two squalling bundles of children. That caused a rift between them that grew wider and wider over the years. Voldemort noticed that she was not maintaining the control she once had over Alexandre and he ordered her to do something about it. Leiko attempted to reconcile with him and ended up sleeping with him once again, and from that night, Sora was conceived. Forced to take maternity leave once more and beg Voldemort, once she delivered Sora, she returned to her duties and job in the same manner as before. It was soon after Sora was born that the Voldemort struck, killing James and Lily Potter but not Harry. Leiko retreated behind her cover of a Ministry employee. It was only a day after that Bellatrix had her come along to question the Longbottoms. Another day later and Leiko found out that Alexandre had filed adoption papers for Harry Potter on the knowledge that he was still alive somewhere. She told him quite frankly that she did not want a halfblood in her home. Alexandre lost his temper at that and they had a huge row, causing them to become permanently estranged. She laid low in her cover after that, assuming that Alexandre had given up on adopting Harry Potter. It wasn’t until much later that she found out quite painfully that Voldemort was quite alive and doing well, as Wormtail had brought him to an agreed upon location in the Carpathian mountains. Once he found out she had a daughter, he told her to awaken her latent vampiric abilities if they were there and to make her negotiate with the vampires on his behalf. By buying a potion and sneaking into Sora’s room when she was asleep to take the few drops of blood needed, she found that her daughter indeed had latent abilities. Securing a dungeon room in the manor, she performed the ritual flawlessly. What she did not anticipate was Sora running directly to Severus at the first sign of something wrong with her and obtaining a suppressant. Displeased, she simply decided to bide her time until the abilities were needed fully by Voldemort. Seeing a way to further Voldemort’s plan, she decided to take Sora to Japan to find and arrange a good pureblood marriage to someone who would be similarly minded to Voldemort’s ideals. It backfired on her when Sora easily dissuaded all of her suitors. It wasn’t until later on in the day that Leiko found out why; Sora had snuck across the cherry orchard and she spied her with Draco Malfoy. They left Japan a few days later and Leiko decided this was an even better opportunity.
