Family History: The de Vyns are one the oldest native families Europe. While they are the oldest, they have always been liberal and progressive in their political stance and maintain their own family code which makes them believe that they are, ultimately, responsible for their family and that they alone are answerable to no one. Within the family itself, the children always answer to the mother and father or whichever parent had more of a presence in the child/children upbringing. The family’s beginnings are documented from the 11th century with the family founder, Constantius de Vyns, a Celtic wizard of some Germanic extraction (ten generations back). Born in Tintagel c.958, his family moved to Avalon where Constantius found he had a talent for breeding horses, winged and non-winged. He married a Welsh witch at the age 45 and created his surname to honour his recently deceased mother, Devyns, and relocated to Salisbury, he was becoming a widely respected breeder in both Wizarding and Muggle communities. By the time he died in 1158 at the age of 200, he had founded the family castle (1098) on a rather deserted moor, had a sizeable family and amassed enough of a fortune to set up the beginnings of the de Vyns house. Over the years the family branched out from horses and dealt with all sorts of animals, becoming the foremost experts on beasts, both magical and non-magical while other members found careers more suited to their tastes. The family grew over time, weathering the cataclysms and revolutions that the Wizarding and Muggle world went through. Their castle was razed and rebuilt no fewer than 6 times. When it was razed for the 7th time during the 17th century, a manor house was built instead and warded very thoroughly with traps, dungeons (which were rarely used) and every ‘modern’ accruement of the time. Around this time, the name ‘Bran’ became customary and was bestowed on the youngest child. The witch hunts through England proved to be very trying to the family and when three of the de Vyns children were caught and burned without the proper trial by Muggles, the family withdrew from the Muggle world permanently. Only a few months later, the manor house was burnt down under the accusation that the entire family was witches. This actually necessitated the family burning their own house down from within and faking overly dramatic shrieks of pain. Once the charred ruins were cool enough, illusionary charms were cast around the area and construction of the new manor began immediately. The 7th razing of the house was due to the manor housing a large scale battle between two opposing forces. It has stood ever since and was renamed Whytemoor Manor since construction finished in December and the family came back to find their house covered in snow. Many notable de Vyns have contributed to history but the two most remembered is Malforda de Vyns (c.1728), purveyor of the first magical sex shop and Hotchkin de Vyns (c.1845), the only referee to suffer the Killing Curse during a Quidditch match.

Personality
Relationships: Daichi has a very good relationship his father, brother and sister though he sometimes can drive them to distraction. With his mother he maintains a polite air but makes it quite clear that he wants absolutely nothing to do with her at all.
Likes: curried dishes, nabeyaki (a Japanese soup with a raw egg split into it), manga, drawing, warm sunny afternoons outside, swimming, Quidditch, weird disgusting things, novelty items
Hates: boring, stuffy people, misoshiro (miso soup), early mornings, people who whine too much/ all the time, dry, uninteresting texts, dry snow, lectures
Qualities: Always on the go, Daichi usually finds himself in the middle of a Quidditch game or a party somewhere. His personality is something like his father’s, but more exuberant and people seem to naturally gravitate to him. He’s something of a flirt and tease and finds it hard to concentrate on an intimate relationship with just one man/woman at any one time. But he’s very honest about that and finds that it sometimes draws more courting that he would have liked to begin with.
Flaws: When he is pissed at you, he simply gives you the silent treatment and will not explain just what was done to anger him. As well, when he’s truly angry his nasty side can come out in full force and he can be absolutely relentless.
Quirks: Daichi usually chews on his lip when he’s busy working at something. As well, he has something of an artist temperament when he’s drawing something and can block out everything else around him. As well, he’s prone to sleepwalking and carrying on entire conversations in his sleep; he’s left many people confused with this.
What is his problem?: He can be very hard on himself if he has high expectations of himself and he fails to meet that. They can cause him to sink into something of a depression that can be rather tough for him to snap himself out of. As well, he’s scared of letting someone outside his family into his life completely.

History
Childhood: Daichi had a carefree childhood, playing with his other siblings and father. While Alexandre tried to teach him about beasts, Daichi found himself far more interested in being outside and flying around on a broomstick built just for children.

Teenage: Once Daichi managed to get into Beauxbatons, his life started to pick up as he was learning French while studying as well. He tried out for the school Quidditch team and was picked in the first draft as a secondary Chaser. After a few games, he was bumped up to main Chaser position and won the school cup for his team, les merveilles (in Beauxbatons, there are no houses, but the students are allowed to draft teams in the first few weeks of school in order to have a Quidditch tournament during the year). He thoroughly enjoyed his studies at Beauxbatons, excelling at Transfiguration and Charms but his true passions became Quidditch and he practiced relentlessly. He was in his fifth semester at the school when an accident happened to his broom and he lost control of it. Unable to stop it, he slipped of it and hit the ground. It took him a year to get back into his top physical shape and he didn’t go near a broom for half a year before he decided to get back on it and keep playing Quidditch again, as accidents did happen. Other than that, and a long string of affairs that marked his years at Beauxbatons as much as his academics and Quidditch playing, he graduated in 1995. Unknown to him was that a scout for Puddlemere United was at the last Quidditch game he played and once he arrived back in England, he found an offer for the team’s secondary Chaser position waiting for him, which he accepted the moment he read it.

Adult: Daichi has been playing for Puddlemere United for two years now and is steadily building his reputation as one of Europe’s best Chasers as well as something of a party boy reputation. Much like in school, he has a long string of affairs behind him, though he says to be looking for the right person to settle down with.
