The first anime I ever watched in my late teens. Fell in love with the genre all over again (grew up on the old school stuff - Astro Boy, Transformers, Mobile Suit Gundam). Now, and speaking in a much looser sense as I’ve come to understand it in English, pierrot can refer to a particular sort of clown that has the characteristic white face and oversized pantaloons, while the jacket isn’t necessarily a requirement. The main distinguishing feature from a pierrot and a clown are the shoes; a clown will wear oversized shoes, while a pierrot will wear elaborated shoes (usually with a curl at the toes) that are somewhat fitted.
However, in French, the word pierrot means sparrow. And I seriously couldn’t recall if the Sanq Kingdom was landlocked or a coastal.
